Statement
Westcott and Son Construction believes that businesses are responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner. Westcott and Son Construction recognises its responsibility to future generations, and is committed to the prevention of pollution.

Acknowledging its contribution to the growing global environmental burden, it will follow business practices that promote sustainable development. Complying with all relevant UK legislation, meeting national standards relating to the environment and in accordance with best working practices currently in use by the industry. We are committed to minimizing or eliminating our impacts through:

Transport: Westcott and Son will seek and employ local products and services to reduce transport.

Encourage Vehicle sharing.

Reducing Waste impact: Reusing materials where possible, therefore not being sent to landfill.

Responsibly sourcing waste management services, including recycling.

Reduced printing and paper waste by upgrading digital storage and sharing.

Renewable energy: Westcott and son LTD will encourage the use of renewable energy sources within our work, seek and employ contactors that align with our values. Sustainable materials: Our sustainability objective is to ensure continuous improvement in our procurement of sustainable materials. More specifically, we seek to avoid adverse environmental impacts through the purchase of products that meet recognised environmental standards where reasonably possible.

Supplier criteria: All suppliers and services must comply with UK Legislation – Environmental Act 2021

All employees and sub-contractors are expected to co-operate with Westcott and Son Construction in the implementation of this environmental policy and will ensure that their own work, so far as is reasonably practicable, is carried out with minimum risk to the environment. Any incidents emergencies or complaints must be reported to the site manager who will advise an appropriate immediate response. Upholding the principles of this policy is the shared responsibility of the assigned site manager and director. All environmental matters will be monitored with the aim to continually improve our response and ultimately prevent incidents where possible. It is the duty of Westcott and Son Construction to ensure that good environmental management is practised in all projects it is involved in and the company will seek to influence customers to demonstrate a positive environmental commitment. The policy will be reviewed annually and updated as required to conform to current legislation. Objectives will be set and regularly monitored to ensure the company is performing at the required standard.
